Dear Elizabeth Gaskell,
Please forgive any impudence or impropriety on my part for writing you. I realize this letter is terribly late, and will never reach you, but all the same I feel it must be written. I have just today finished your wonderful novel, “North and South.” I cannot tell you how profoundly moved I am by it. At first, it was just the romance between Margaret Hale and John Thornton that...

Ugh, this part made me CRY IN A CROWDED AIRPORT TERMINAL last week. Just. Gah. Mr. Thornton IS the new Mr. Darcy.

ABSOLUTELY. ALWAYS.
I’m sure e-readers have their benefits & conveniences, but I’m a bonafide bibliophile, for crying out loud. I want a freakin’ library in my house someday. Not another electronic device I have to charge and carry around and worry about.

– Liz Feuerbach, The Women of The Harry Potter Universe (via writingadvice)
Agree. I LOVE Hermione. I love that she’s basically always right, that she and Harry are COMPLETELY PLATONIC, that she loves Ron even though he’s awkward and often seems very UNloveable, she is always reading,...

Day 14: Team Voldermort or Team Harry?
Seriously? Harry, duh! (I’m only Team Voldemort when Jim Halpert is picking team names just to annoy Dwight.)
Day 15: Who would be your best friends at Hogwarts? (Three only)
Luna, Neville, and Hermione. Because I was always on the fringes.
Day 17: Are you excited about The Deathly Hallows movie or scared it won’t do the book justice?

Day 11: What character would you say you are most like?
I have Hermione’s penchant for books, but otherwise, I think I identified with Tonks the most. Clumsy, well-meaning, pining away, bit of a rebel, slob, and punk all in one.
Day 12: Favourite ship.
Argh! Um, Ronmione? Hinny? Remadora?* I do like all those ships. I was never a Harry/Hermione shipper. But one couple I did ship...

Catch-up day, because I’ve been forgetful…
Day 3: Are there any of the films adaptations that have made you angry because they’ve ignored important parts of the book?
Um, all of them??? I was annoyed in #3 when they completely left out that Remus, Lupin, Sirus & James made the map & glossed over their whole animagus friendship, nicknames, & patronuses.
In #4 they left...

30 day Harry Potter challenge
Day 2: Your favourite movie.
So far, Order of the Phoenix. I was bitterly disappointed by Goblet of Fire (especially since at that point, it was my favorite book), so I was surprised to so thoroughly enjoy the next movie. Even though they changed some stuff, that moment when Luna and Harry are feeding the thestrals and talking about Voldemort really blew me away. The music was also...

30 day Harry Potter challenge
Day 1: Your favorite book.
Hmmm…tough one, but I think it has to be Deathly Hallows. The way everything just comes together so powerfully at the end…
Before that, I would have said Goblet of Fire, because the first time I read it, I was FREAKING OUT when I got to the end and Voldemort was back…I didn’t see that coming. No one else in my family or friends had read it...
